Shinichi (Shin) Moriyama was born and raised in Kagoshima, Japan. It is a sunny, warm city onthe southern tip of Japan with a large bay and an active volcano called Sakurajima. He spent time in Philadelphia, Miami, and Tokyo before meeting his wife and moving to Portland in 1995. They have lived here since then with their son, cat and chickens.Acupuncture and Eastern Medicine have always been a passion of Shin's. It was exciting to have the chance to study at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine after moving to Portland. He graduated in 2003 and opened his private clinic in the Hollywood District of NE Portland in 2004, where he still practices today.
Liz Asch Greenhill practices acupuncture and acupressure with a gentle, firm, intuitive touch. Liz trained in New York City and Oregon and has worked in Portland community clinics and Reed's health and counseling center. Since 2009 Liz has run a private practice in SE Portland. An artist and award-winning writer, Liz also works as a creativity consultant, teaching artists and makers techniques to get embodied, better understand their artistic process, and unlock their creative flow. Aimee “Hara” Thompson has been training in the Healing Arts since the age of 17. She began by studying Therapeutic Massage and Nutrition and branched off into Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs 10 years ago. Her sessions incorporate gentle yet effective techniques that providelasting relief from pain and stress.
Claire Papoulis recognized the value of holistic health from a very young age. Over the years, it has been a personal mission of hers to explore the path of wellness in her own life. She holds great respect for the potential we all have to play a role on this path.The theories of Chinese Medicine resonated with Claire from the first time she came across it, and she knew she had to learn more. Claire went on to find and study Amma Therapy at The Wellspring School for Healing Arts in Portland, OR. With Amma, she has found a synergy of both professional and personal enrichment. She is dedicated to educating and sharing this practice with clients to help them promote their own balance and take steps on the path to wellness.
Sara studied Traditional Chinese Medicine and Shiatsu massage at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Oregon. She was fascinated by the medicine and inspired to help people heal. Weeks after graduation, she traveled to Nanjing, China for 6 weeks of advanced studies, where she observed and practiced acupuncture and moxibustion in hospitals, visited Chinese herb farms and markets, and learned herbal formulas in hospital consultations.
Through acupuncture, Sara is able to share her love of self-care, and finds so much fulfillment in helping people live better through emotional balancing and natural pain relief. In addition to practicing Chinese medicine, Sara enjoys teaching yoga, spending time in nature, and relaxing with her fluffy orange kitty.
